Without the labor movement and the unions in this country, we would have none of these benefits. Put Republicans in charge and we will soon be in a place prior to the labor movement, i.e. without any benefits at all. Scott Walker Recall Petitions Gather 1 Million Signatures
by J Stepper • • 2 Comments
Oh Scotty, we barely knew ye. 1 million signatures is 1/6 of the state’s population.
Some are saying that Wisconsin is ground zero for the fight to save our unions and the middle class from the destruction the GOP has planned for both. Let’s hope we get it right.
“Democrats are calling it the “biggest recall effort in American history”: over one million signatures have been collected in favor of recalling Governor Scott Walker.
Nearly double the required number of signatures were collected. Even of some of those signatures are thrown out, it becomes painfully clear that Walker’s anti-labor moves have made him a lot of enemies.
Occupy Wall Street

Finally! The left is beginning to rise up again and take this country back from the ever-increasing extreme right wing in this country. Now maybe we can return this country to some sort of sanity. Return this country to what it used to be: A country that took care of its people: A country that cared.
Hello Economic Depression

In 1929 the stock market crashed: Similar to the crash in 2008. The president at that time, Herbert Hoover, thought that the way out of the deep recession the economic meltdown had caused was to rely on the private sector to put the country back onto the path to prosperity. He opposed the New Deal that FDR ran on in his winning bid for the 1932 presidency. Hoover’s actions caused a deep recession, like we are in now, to deepen into a depression.
Target stores: Anti-union, Anti-middle class

Gawker got this anti-union propaganda training video put out by Target stores. In the video they use a graph showing the decline of unions over the past fifty years. They say it is because people no longer need or want to belong to a union. They fail to provide the rest of that graph. As union membership has declined in this country so have wages and working conditions. We need unions now more than ever. Of course, as it is with any propaganda like this there is an extreme irony. The actors in the video who are portraying the Target employees belong to a union: Unionized actors acting in an anti-union propaganda video. Oh, the irony!

Whatever the Tea Party might have started out as; it has become increasingly obvious that the Tea Party wing of the Republican Party is actually the extreme right fringe of the party. It has also become obvious that the Tea Party now controls the Republican Party: Hence the name Republican Tea Party.
From trying to get rid of all social programs, child labor laws, and social safety nets to selling off this country’s assets to large corporations, enacting an anti-choice agenda, and amending the Constitution to reflect their misbegotten, twisted, so-called “Christian” values, the right wing fringe are trying to enact their hate-filled agenda all across this country.
