Rep. Todd Akin (R-MO) who is running for a Senate seat made a comment about “legitimate rape.” Every Rape is Legitimate The leaders of the Republican Party immediately tried to distance themselves from Akin by repudiating his remarks and calling for him to drop out of the Senate race.
All of this is just public relations bullshit spin on the part of the Republicans. The beliefs and views of Akin about rape and abortion are the mainstream Republican beliefs. In fact the Republican Party just last Friday voted to include in their party platform language that would outlaw all abortions with no exceptions for rape, incest, or the life of the mother.
This is when the right wing threatens to start shooting. Why is it that when the right wing doesn’t get what they want they threaten violence? Violence is the providence of the uneducated and ignorant. Intelligent people can generally work out their problems without resulting to violence.
If armed insurrection occurs, it can be laid squarely at the feet of the GOP. More than one Republican politician has hinted at that “remedy.” Remember Sharron Angle, a Senate candidate from Nevada? “…if this, this Congress keeps going the way it is, people are really looking toward those Second Amendment remedies…”
"I am sorry America, I am just not that into you."
The House of Representatives is once again debating a bill to address a problem that doesn’t exist. The bill they are debating on the House floor right now is to ban abortions that are used for gender selection. There is absolutely no evidence that anyone in America has ever had an abortion to select their child’s gender. None, zero, nada, zip.
This person is bringing fascism to America; wrapped in a flag, carrying a Bible
One thing you have to give the Tea Party candidates is the fact they are willing to tell the truth when it comes to letting us know what the GOP is up to and how they see things. This is a perfect example of how the GOP sees its role in our government. “It is either my way or the highway.” Or as GW Bush so famously put it: “Your are either with us, or against us.”

The oath of allegiance to never raise taxes that the Republican Party took to Grover Norquist is being honored above the oath they took to this country to do their jobs. Is this who you want in control? A party that cares more about an oath of allegiance to an unaccountable non-politician than they do about the oath they took to this country? The Republican Party is off of the rails and out in the weeds. The control of this country, on every level, needs to be wrested away from the Republican Tea Party.

I believe that without his intervention things there would be better.” The Detroit News who has endorsed Romney has scrubbed its website of this opinion piece by Romney. I wonder why?
