Hang onto your wallets folks

bear empty pocketsAs President Obama and the GOP leadership get together this week in an attempt to strike a “grand bargain” for the budget, you need to grab your wallet tightly. No matter what they come up with, it is going to unnecessarily hurt the most vulnerable in this country, while the Greedy Rich will get a virtual pass.

Our politicians in DC, both Republicans and Democrats, are owned by the same entities; the Greedy Rich and large corporations. The difference between the two parties being that the Democrats will break away from their handlers and do the right thing if pressured enough. Republicans will simply not cross their benefactors for any reason whatsoever.

The Gatekeepers for the Greedy Rich

Brainless minion example #1

The differences between the two political parties in this past November’s elections could not have been starker.

Mitt Romney and the Republicans ran on a platform of protecting the wealth of the greedy rich and having the rest of America pay for the debt the greedy rich caused by cutting the social safety net.

President Obama and the Democrats ran on a platform of raising taxes on the greedy rich so they could start paying their fair share.

The bottom line: Democrats – make the greedy rich pay more. Republicans – make the middle class and the poor pay more.

America Already Has Universal Health Care Coverage

That’s right we do. People argue that we need universal health care in this country. They want everyone to have access to quality health care. Everyone in this country already has that.

Every person, citizen or not, within the borders of the United States can walk into any emergency room, anywhere in the country, and that emergency room, by law, has to treat that person. So you see, we already have universal health care.

The question isn’t whether we are going to deliver universal health care to our citizens; the question is how that health care is delivered.

Why I Quit the Democratic Party

This has been awhile in the coming. The Democratic Party has abandoned me along with millions of others as they have moved to the right over the years.

What do I base this on? That’s easy. Almost every bill passed in the past four years has been a Republican position. Affordable Health Care Act? A Republican idea from the 1990s. The individual mandate? Another Republican idea from the late 1990s.

I didn’t like the Republican Party and what they were doing in the 1990s and I certainly don’t like them now, even though they have labeled themselves, “Democrats”.

The Road We’ve Traveled

Here is the Obama video: “The Road We’ve Traveled.” An excellent video of Obama’s first term. It reminds us of where we were and how far we have come. President Obama has faced what no other president in history has ever faced: An economic collapse and an opposition party that absolutely refuses to help, fearing President Obama will be reelected. For the GOP that is the worst possible thing that can happen in this country: Two terms for President Obama. “The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.” – Mitch McConnell (R-KY) 10/24/2010

As this chart shows, EVERYONE does better financially under Democrats

First I would like to address the chart to the left. As you can see, everyone in this country does better financially under Democrats than under Republicans. Everyone. The question now is: Why do the super-rich, who also do better under Democratic policies, want Republican policies? Because it isn’t about making more money, it is about greed. It isn’t that they want more money, because they would have that under Democrats, it is about having ALL of the money. They don’t want MORE money, they want YOUR money. That is what greed is all about.
