Binders Full of Women

Hey Mitt, can you believe that the American people still think we are on their side?

As in the first debate, Romney in the second debate once again came out onto the stage lying and denying.

When I first heard the “binders full of women” comment from Romney, I thought it was hilarious. As it turns out, however, even that little anecdote was a complete lie.

On Tuesday night Romney made this statement in response to a question on whether he supports equal pay for equal work. (He never did answer the question because as far as anyone knows, he doesn’t support it):

America Already Has Universal Health Care Coverage

That’s right we do. People argue that we need universal health care in this country. They want everyone to have access to quality health care. Everyone in this country already has that.

Every person, citizen or not, within the borders of the United States can walk into any emergency room, anywhere in the country, and that emergency room, by law, has to treat that person. So you see, we already have universal health care.

The question isn’t whether we are going to deliver universal health care to our citizens; the question is how that health care is delivered.

McConnell: Covering 30 Million Uninsured Is ‘Not The Issue’

Mitch McConnell “Republican Party before country.”

This is what America is going to get if the people in this great nation insist on voting for Republicans: A repeal of ObamaCares and back to business as usual with the insurance companies. The insurance companies will again be able to drop you when you get sick, refuse to insure those with pre-existing conditions, no more free preventative care, and 50 million people in this country still without insurance placing a huge financial burden on the rest of us as the uninsured use the ER as their primary physician.

Supreme Court Upholds Obamacare in Landmark Decision

“The Supreme Court on Thursday upheld President Obama’s health reform law, affirming the centerpiece of the sweeping 2010 overhaul of the nation’s medical industries in a landmark 5-4 vote. The deciding opinion, written by conservative Chief Justice John Roberts, held that the requirement that almost all Americans buy health insurance starting in 2014 or pay a penalty, does not violate the Constitution. The Court limited a massive expansion of Medicaid, the federal program that provides health care to the poor, but did not strike it down. That outcome validates the legacy achievement of Obama’s tenure, and puts the U.S. closer to near-universal health coverage than at any time in its history.

On Second Thought, GOP Will Just Repeal Obamacare

If you didn’t see this coming down the pike, then I have oceanfront property in Kansas you may be interested in. Of course the Republicans are not going to replace the Affordable Care Act. They don’t want more people covered with health insurance from the government because that would divert money away from the wallets of the greedy rich who the Republicans live to serve.

What Happens If The Affordable Care Act Is Struck Down

The Supreme Court is going to hand down a ruling on the Affordable Care Act on June 5th. What is at issue here is whether or not the act is constitutional; specifically the individual mandate. If the mandate is found to be unconstitutional, the court then has to decide if the rest of the act can stand on its own without the mandate.

Most court watchers – people who watch what the Supreme Court does and then report on it – think this will be another 5 – 4 political decision, with the law being thrown out completely. This would not be the first decision made by this Supreme Court that was made on a strictly partisan basis: The Politicized Supreme Court
