Family Reunion
“chorus”
coffee mild, weak or strong
there is no right or wrong
compromise is the order of the day
nobody has to have their way
we’ll always be of different minds
it’s family love that binds
we shared a life so long ago
a different time, a different flow
old relationships are hard to break
passing years a difference makes
old debates for some still flare
the rest of us couldn’t care
it’s softer now somehow
less heat and bite for now
wow! a scavenger hunt, what fun!
playing hide and seek with a teasing sun
many romps on a sandy beach
stars at night beyond our reach
lots of great food to eat
our family cooks can’t be beat
thank you also clean up crew
it’d have been a mess if not for you
puzzles and games into the night
scrambling for bragging rights
youngsters don’t give an inch
adults no longer have a cinch
it’s been great to get together
to get to know each other better
family, kids, new friends
a new awareness it lends
it’s time to leave this place
is that a tear on your face?
tight hugs all around abound
more common ground has been found

I just found this!!
